چکیده

This review of the status Australian caddisflies focuses on publications from 1982 to 2022. Information is provided new species described in that period, keys, descriptions both adults and larvae, distribution families genera states/regions Northern Territory. Australia’s caddisfly fauna now totals 27 families, 111 868 species, with 97.9% endemic Australia (only 19 are known outside Australia, mainly nearby island New Guinea – Papua Province, Indonesia); some also extend into Zealand South-East Asia. The biogeography discussed briefly terms “northern” “southern” faunal elements, provinces, distributional barriers, areas highest biodiversity refuge areas. southern elements Trichoptera indicated. recorded following states/regions: South Wales 263 northern Queensland (N-Qld) 248 Victoria 247 species. endemicity Western (S-WA), 73% followed by N-Qld 58% Tasmania 57%. lowest numbers have been S-WA, 42 49 respectively.

Diversity and distribution of the Caddisflies (Insecta: Trichoptera) of Ecuador

BACKGROUND Aquatic insects and other freshwater animals are some of the most threatened forms of life on Earth. Caddisflies (Trichoptera) are highly biodiverse in the Neotropics and occupy a wide variety of freshwater habitats. In Andean countries, including Ecuador, knowledge of the aquatic biota is limited, and there is a great need for baseline data on the species found in these countries. H...

Biological diversity of the Minnesota caddisflies (Insecta, Trichoptera)

The caddisfly fauna of Minnesota contains at least 277 species within 21 families and 75 genera. These species are based on examination of 312,884 specimens from 2,166 collections of 937 Minnesota aquatic habitats from 1890 to 2007. Included in these totals is my own quantitative sampling of 4 representative habitat types: small streams, medium rivers, large rivers, and lakes, from each of the ...

Distribution and ecology of the caddisflies (Trichoptera) of Flanders (Belgium)

Based on a literature survey and the identification of all available collection material, a checklist and distribution maps for the caddisflies occurring in Flanders were prepared. Of the 126 species that have been recorded, 16 are now extinct in Flanders, while the majority of the remaining species is rare and their populations are often vulnerable due to isolation. Caddisflies only occurred a...
